WOW!? 37,000 of us in one place. We walked just over a mile to get there. Every step of the way the groups came together from side streets gathering into a huge crowd. I thought we were towards the end of the line, but, in fact, we were only the mid point. It was an impressive sight! We heard about ongoing recovery efforts in New Orleans following Katrina. It was sobering to see the number of broken windows that were clearly still from that event. We also saw the arrival of our Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson, who drove himself onto the stage in a bathtub, complete with bathrobe and shower cap . . . . you had to be there! Amazing music, food and pyrotechnics. Great start! more tomorrow!
